Hello again!
Last week our questions focused on what you learned about the Lord. Now it is time to think about what you learned about yourself.

Christmas Break
What did you learn about yourself during the trip?
Did you surprise yourself during the trip? If so, how?
What are the areas you need to work on as a result of what He showed you? (If you are not comfortable sharing this part, that is okay. But go ahead and write it down for your own benefit.)
Did you run into any conflicts (culturally, with God, yourself or others) while on the trip?
If so, are there any steps you need to take to resolve that conflict?
What challenges did you face on the trip?
How did you see God working through and despite these challenge and or conflicts?
Now a question just for fun. What was your favorite fun activity in country?
Application and encouragement:
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
I think it is easy to forget that it is Paul who is saying this. He too had problems and struggles. So if there were things that were hard, don’t shy away from them! Instead ask the Lord to help you see the areas you need to grow and to trust that He used you and will use you even in your weakness.
“9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality." Romans 12: 9-13.
Sometimes there can be conflicts on teams, (no way!) if there is anything that needs to be mended with a fellow teammate you still have the chance to make it right. The scripture tells us to “be devoted to one another in brotherly love.'' Now admittedly that isn’t always easy, if you have siblings, you know that. But it is worth it!
Now, take a deep breath................and let it out.
I am being serious!
Just do it!
It can be difficult to look intently at ourselves and see how far we fall short, (or is it just me?). If our hope came from us there would be no hope. BUT IT DOESN’T!!! I comes from the maker of heaven and earth and HE tells us that His grace is sufficient, that He is our strength, that it isn’t about what we do but what His has done. No matter what you face today, face it with this knowledge. You serve the One who spoke and everything came to be!!!
If at any point in this process you need someone to talk to send me an email at
[email protected]
and I will set up a time for you to either talk to a staff member or team leader. Also feel free to send me any prayer requests.
In Him, Haley Sisson
