Hi!
During the first week we asked what we learned about God. Last week we asked what we learned about ourselves. Now we face a different sort of question. How do we live out what we have learned?
But before we dive into that, let's take a minute to ponder who we are in Christ.
“8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10
Just think, we are God’s handiwork (creation, product, work, achievement, design) and He has made plans in advance for us!
Lord, please help us to understand the way You have designed us and how You want us to use what You have given us. Father we thank You for the privilege of being able to serve and know You. Use us for Your glory!
Ready to ask some questions? Great!
Did I discover gifts I can use for His glory?
Did I change and what can I do to stay steady and continue to grow in those changed areas?
How would I like to change now?
Did I learn anything about God’s purpose for my life?
What practical steps can I take to live out a life of ministry wherever I am?
What does the scripture say?
“6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:6-8
“10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
It is exciting to see that the Lord has given us gifts and abilities that we can use to help build His kingdom. Don't be tempted to think that they can only be used on the mission field, because in reality the whole world is our mission field!
“1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2
The scriptures make it clear that we are to lay down our lives and follow wherever the Lord calls. The question we have to ask ourselves is this, how does he want us to do that? I can't answer that question for you, but God is faithful to make His will known.
“9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
(Tip: One practical step you can take this process is to seek out a mentor.)
Just remember this: "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!" Romans 11:33 and "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5
Wow you made it! Yay!!!!
This section is all yours! Scary I know! But seriously we want to hear your thoughts about GE and the trip. Also, if you have more stories to share we would absolutely love to hear them.
What you did you like about the trip?
What you didn’t like?
How we can improve?
Is there anything that would have been helpful for you to know before going on the trip?
Would you join us again?
Do you have any fun ideas we could incorporate into future trips?
Fire away, I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
..............
......But before you go......
.....”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
If at any point in this process you need someone to talk to send me an email at

and I will set up a time for you to either talk to a staff member or team leader. Also feel free to send me any prayer requests.
In Him, Haley Sisson
